J-Bay Open Round 1

E’ partito il J-Bay Open in Sud Africa con il completamento del primo round.

Dopo due giorni di lay day, il J-Bay Open è finalmente ripartito a Jeffrey’s Bay in condizioni d’onda non classiche nè facili, con misura di un metro abbondante, rovinato dal vento ma adatto alle manovre aeree, che ha consentito di completare tutte le heat del primo round prima della sospensione.

Da segnalare l’apertura aggressiva da parte di Kelly Slater che ha inaugurato la heat con una delle sue famose rotazioni aeree complete, consolidata poi da una seconda onda da 8.83, punteggio più alto del giorno su singola onda, che gli ha garantito il passaggio diretto al terzo round.

Tra le migliori performance del giorno anche quella di Dane Reynolds che ha vinto la heat contro Adam Melling e Filipe Toledo grazie a curve potenti e spinnoni verticali.

Occhi puntati anche sulla ultima heat del giorno, dove l’hawaiano Keanu Asing ha mandato al secondo round Medina e Parkinson, che se la dovranno vedere l’uno contro l’altro alla ripresa del contest.
