Rip curl pro bells riparte in condizioni classic

Surfcorner.it – Dopo alcuni giorni di sospensione, le condizioni del mare a Bells Beach sono tornate classiche e con onde di 4-6 piedi (1,5-2 mt.) e vento offshore, perfette per la ripresa del contest con il completamento del secondo e terzo round.

La mareggiata e il vento in aumento dopo la terza heat del terzo round hanno poi forzato lo spostamento del campo gara al vicino Winkipop per completare le batterie.

Joel Parkinson, partito bene fin dalle prime heat del contest, ha continuato a sfoggiare la sua forma devastante, eliminando Kai Otton con un ‘onda da 9.00 grazie a un tubo profondo seguito da una serie di curve potenti.

Con Slater eliminato prematuramente, così come Taj Burrow e Bede Durbidge, si rafforzano le speranza di un inizio sempre più solido per Parko, anche se egli stesso ammette di non lasciarsi trasportare dall’entusiasmo, in quanto la stagione è ancora lunga ed è consapevole che i suoi avversari “torneranno più incazzati la prossima volta.”

Intanto Jordy Smith ha buttato fuori Owen Wright, il diciannovenne australiano che aveva appena eliminato Slater, dando vita ad una delle più belle heat del giorno.

Alla ripresa del contest con i quarti ci aspettano delle heat interessanti, con CJ Hobgood che incontrerà Parkinson, Mick Fanning con Jordy Smith, e i due hawaiani Kekoa Bacalso, che sta continuando a stupire, e Frederick Patacchia che incontreranno rispettivamente Adam Robertson e Kieren Perrow.
