Mick fanning guadagna la seconda vittoria consecutiva e riapre la corsa al titol

Surfcorner.it – Mick Fanning ha appena vinto la sua seconda tappa consecutiva del World Tour ASP, conquistando anche il Quiksilver Pro France 2009. La vittoria odierna consolida il suo secondo posto nel ranking 2009, accorciando la distanza che lo separa da Joel Parkinson, che rimane leader della classifica.

Se prima del Pro France eran ben 936 punti a separare i due contendenti, ora sono solamente 146. Ora si aspettano importanti verdetti dal Mundaka che ospiterà la prossima tappa del tour. La corsa verso il titolo mondiale ASP diventa ancora più avvincente e aperta.

Parkinson ha subito infatti la stessa sorte di Trestles con l’uscita al terzo round per mano di Patrick Beven, entrato nel main event attraverso i trials, fermato solo in semifinale da Durbidge.

Anche Tiago Pires ha concluso una gara alle stelle arrivando in semifinale dopo aver eliminato Slater ai quarti, ed è stato fermato solo da Fanning.

Entrambi i due europei sono stati supportati ampiamente dai fans che li hanno caricati durante l’evento.
